Massive Transfusion

Revision as of 15:25, 9 February 2017 by Dr. 99 (talk | contribs)$7

Massive transfusion is defined as either the transfusion of:

  1. 10 or more units of packed red blood cells in 24 hours; or
  2. "a sh*t ton" of packed red blood cells

This assumes, however, you can somehow figure out the paperwork to blood in the first place.[1][2][3] For more information, see Trauma-Associated Severe Hemorrhage Score or Assessment of Blood Consumption Score.
