Created in 1917, the 4" x 4" gauze (or 4 x 4 for short) is the ideal size of gauze, as all wounds are 4 x 4.[1] Don't even think about using a 3 x 3. Or at least if you're going to use one make sure it's scented.[2]

Did You Know?

Did you know you can throw a 4" x 4" gauze up to 3 feet in distance in the right conditions?[3]
