Catching My Breath

"Got my mitt, now where's that lung at?"

"Catching my breath" is a phrase that only really applies to those unfortunate patients who have hacked up a lung. When the lung exits the body after hacking it up, the act of the person catching his or her own lung is what constitutes the catching of his or her breath. If you don’t catch your breath and your lungs fall onto the pavement, they'll become contaminated and possibly preclude their transplantation back into your body.[1][2] That's bad news for you since, you know, oxygen is pretty rad.
