Chipotle Mexican Grill is an American chain of fast food restaurants specializing not only in tacos and burritos, but E. coli[1][2], Salmonella, and Norovirus[3]. The word "chipotle" is Spanish for "intractable diarrhea."[4]

History

Chipotle was founded by Steve Ells in Colorado in 1983, perturbed by all the healthy, active people out and about. He helped that introducing infectious diseases publicly through the transmission of hepatitis-laden fast food would negate the movement towards a healthy life free of disease.

Success

Chipotle has seeded itself with over 2,000 locations and 45,000 employees, most of whom will contract a severe, debilitating virus of bacteria by 2020. To help promote this, Chipotle has removed policies regarding use of disposable gloves during food preparation, especially after urination or defecation. It should be noted Chipotle is against handwashing after using bathroom facilities.

Menu

Chipotle just recently revamped its menu to capitalize on consumer bowels (see updated menu to the right).

Future Direction

Given the rip-roaring success and diarrhea that characterized 2016, Chipotle hopes to expand their success by introducing C. diff and MRSA to the menu among other things.[5]
