James Scott, 1st Duke of Monmouth (1649-1685)

The Duke criteria are set of a major and minor criteria required before a male British doctor can be given the prestigious title of "duke" in the nobility. The Duchess Criteria works in parallel for female British doctors seeking the title of "duchess." Only when they have the title of Duke or Duchess can they accurately make the diagnosis of endocarditis.
