Not-Artificial Tears

"Now to aim them into the patient's eyes..."

Not-artificial tears are known as real tears. They are thought to be more effective than artificial tears, but more laborious to use. Not-artificial tears requires finding a tearful volunteer (July intern) crying directly on top of your face such that his or her real tears fall into your dry eyes. Not only is it impractical, but it's also awfully weird crying into someone's eyes and doing so with great aim.
