Pet therapy (also known as animal-assisted therapy or AAT) is a type of therapy that uses animals to help improve the social, emotional, or physical functioning of a patient. According to hospital administrators, the larger the animal the larger the benefit. Examples of animals being used as pet therapy included black bears, grizzlies, and K9s.[1][2]
