Simon Says

Simon Says is a children's game adapted to the inpatient setting in order to increase compliance. In this healthcare version, the provider has the role of "Simon" and issues instructions to patients. Patients should only respond to instructions if prefaced with the phrase "Simon says" ("Simon says take your blood pressure medications" or "Simon says NPO after midnight"). If the patient responds to instructions but the provider didn't say "Simon says," the patient is promptly discharged. Medical providers love this game.
