Schwartz's Principles of Surgery is one of the most important textbooks for medical students interested in surgery as well as surgical trainees. Though it is over 2,000 pages in length, most surgeons claim that it can still be read from front to back during the duration of one single Whipple procedure. It is divided into 48 chapters, the first 47 of which deal with knots and making sure medical students don't cut them too short[1] The 48th chapter instructs attendings-to-be on how to appropriately pimp the sh*t out of medical students.
