A tooth fairy is believed to take children's teeth, which they keep under their pillow, and leave money in their place. Tooth fairies do this because teeth are their currency, which is holding strong against the US dollar and euro. They will not, however, take teeth from teratomas.[1] They are a subset of medical fairies who compensate for lost appendages.
