The eye poke is an unpopular eye exam maneuver in which a medical provider takes his or her second or third fingers to form a fork, which is subsequently jammed into both eyes of the patient. The eye poke is positive if it hurts the patients' eyes. Of note, ophthalmologists spend a substantial part of their residency and fellowship training learning and perfecting the eye poke and its numerous variations.
