The American College of Surgeons (ACS) was founded in 1913 after surgeons finally decided that medical management wasn't working.
Mission Statement
To improve the care of the surgical patient by consulting anesthesia, infectious diseases, and internal medicine. And PT, OT. Nutrition and Wound Care too.
Membership
ACS members are referred to as "Fellows." Non-ACS members are referred to as "A**holes."
