Silly, how can you not know?! CRISPR (pronounced "crisper") is the acronym for clustered regularly interspersed short palindromic repeats.
Recent Events
CRISPR came to the national conscious as researchers from University of California Berkeley and the Broad Institute butted heads over patenting rights regarding gene-editing technology derived from their understanding of CRISPR.[1] Though the patent ruling went in favor of the Broad Institute, their next order of business is finding a better acronym so that they can spell the word CRISPIER.
On that note, is anyone else craving potato chips?!
