Veterinary medicine is the branch of medicine that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of disease, disorder, and injury in nonverbal or minimally-verbal human animals.[1] It may include pediatric, geriatric and psychiatric subsets, and requires a high level of skill among practitioners who must be able obtain a history often based solely upon the grunts, sighs, eye rolls, groans, moans, or psychiatric overtones of the patient.[2]
