External Fixator

An external fixator is a steel bar that is affixed parallel to a fractured long bone or limp stethoscope.[1]


Indications for an External Fixator


  1. Certain pediatric fractures
  2. Stabilization of infected nonunions
  3. Stabilization of severe open fractures
  4. Boredom
  5. Stethoscope
