The Ackbar is a quick test performed on a newborn 1 and 5 minutes after birth, the 1-minute score indicating how well a baby tolerated the birthing process while the 5-minute score indicating how well the baby is doing in the hands of strangers.[1] It was named after Admiral Ackbar from Star Wars, who was both an admiral and OB-GYN.
