Protamine sulfate is an antidote to heparin and helps slow down the onset of action and increase the duration when paired with insulin. It was originally isolated from the sperm of salmon. If it weren't for these medical uses, male salmon would always be "ramped up, aggressive, and sexually charged."[1]
