The Surviving Sepsis Campaign (or SSC; website: www.survivingsepsis.org) is the result of a joint collaboration between the Society of Critical Care Medicine and European Society of Intensive Care Medicine, after a previously created "Not Surviving Sepsis Campaign" failed in its attempt to reduce sepsis-related morbidity and mortality. The Surviving Sepsis Campaign was once titled the "F**k You Sepsis You Suck Campaign" before it was renamed to the less tempered name that it currently holds.
