A treasure chest compression is a form of chest compression performed specifically by pirates for the resuscitation of treasure chests. It is not uncommon for pirates, after unearthing a buried treasure chest, to find it hypoxemic and gasping for breath. Pirates believe that with adequate treasure chest compressions perfusion can be restored, thus making it easier for the treasure chest to be cracked open, revealing all its gold and other valuables inside.
