A sterile field is an area of the operating room, procedure area, pasture, or field where no one can have children.
Slang use
Most post-menopausal women are called this on the streets, as in: "Yo Broh, aren't you worried you are going to get her pregnant?"
"Nah, she's a sterile field!"
