Founded in 1936, the American Board of Internal Medicine (or ABIM) is charged with not only certifying 1 out of every 4 physicians in the United States, but also ensuring that 4 out of 4 physicians enlarge their medical debt by paying exorbitant fees for practices that are not really evidence-based. Though their website claims they are "non-profit," we're all pretty sure that's one big fat giant lie. The ABIM appears to have close ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin.[1]
