Barrett's esophagus is a complication of GERD where the distal esophagus changes such that it looks like the esophagus of your friend named Barrett. And we all know what Barrett's esophagus looks like since he makes everyone look at it. It doesn't look pretty. Not at all. Why does he make us keep looking down his throat? It's weird. But we feel bad for Barrett. Barrett needed an EGD since a PPI was no longer cutting it. Poor Barrett. And his esophagus. At least it doesn't look like Garrett's esophagus. That's just hopeless.
