Pulsus Esophagus

A pulsus esophagus is an extremely difficult pulse to detect, but if done properly can help assess the presence of esophageal dysmotility, GERD, or a Schatzki ring.[1] A positive pulsus esophagus warrants both EGD and initiation of a proton-pump inhibitor.
