"Cold as crap" is a phrase used by someone complaining how cold it is, either outside or in the operating room. But how cold is crap really? Given that a normal body temperature is 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit, crap is more likely to come out hot than cold. Cold crap, then, should only result in a patient that is hypothermic. So perhaps if a person has been in the arctic tundra or the operating room long enough it can lead to cold crap. Studies at both the Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic will test this hypothesis this coming winter.
