To fall and place one's face into a plant. Depending on the circumstances around the faceplant, it can be a medical emergency.[1] If in the event the faceplant occurs at a high velocity, then it is possible the patient can sustain major facial trauma (eyes, nose, throat, temple, brain, etc.). In a worse case scenario, a patient faceplants at a high velocity onto a cactus, and this almost always results an ER visit requiring the assistance of such specialities as ophthalmology, ENT, and neurosurgery to remove the hundreds of spikes and thorns.
