Transesophageal Echocardiogram
From Gomerpedia
A transesophageal echocardiogram (or TEE) is the name for an upper endoscopy that somehow didn't make it to the stomach. As this test requires the patient to swallow a probe, the patient is not talkative during this procedure, which is the major advantage of this test over transthoracic echocardiogram. A transesophageal echocardiogram should not be mistaken for a transthoracic echocardiogram or transatlantic echocardiogram.
