Medical management is that thing surgical subspecialties consult Medicine for even though the patient has no medical problem.

Surgeon: Are you Medicine?

Medicine: Why yes, and how are you to-

Surgeon: Can you consult? You know, for medical management.

Medicine (rolls eyes): And what medical problems do they have?

Surgeon (after long pause): None. (Awkward pause.) If you could see them now, that's be great. Thanks. (Hangs up.)
