Epoetin Alfa

Epoetin alfa is an erythropoiesis-stimulating agent (ESA) used to help patients with anemia due to chronic kidney disease or chemotherapy. Epoetin alfa shortages typically occur during the Tour de France, when the medication is in high demand.
