ERAS is actually the nickname for a really nice gentleman named ERic AnderSon, who has taken it upon himself to compile all the information from applying medical students and submit them to their selected medical residency programs in a standardized format. It's a lot of work, but ERAS surely loves it. Also, he actually prefers to be called Eric, not ERAS.^[1][2][3][4]
