This is an artist's rendition and not a real foot

On any given foot, a pedal pulse can be checked in either one of two places: the dorsalis pedis artery and the posterior tibila artery. While checking the pedal pulse is done with ease for most nurses and health care professionals, it tends to be a challenge among interns who have difficulty spotting a patient's legs especially when several layers of blankets come into play.[1] Thanks to the diligence of residency programs and the ACGME, most residents are able to locate a pedal pulse by the time they graduate.
