A term used only by our senior old-as-f**k attendings, a whippersnapper is a young gun - student, intern, or basically anyone under the age of 65 - who appears overconfident.[1] Whereas the high majority of interns are under-confident or overactive with bowels, the whippersnapper is less common but way more dangerous. Those are the ones who rarely say, "I don't know." It's not a coincidence then that another four-syllable word, an expression, comes to mind when one thinks of whippersnapper: m**herf**ker!
