Pneumothorax CXR.jpg

A tension pneumothorax is a pneumothorax that causes more stress to a medical provider than usual. In some cases, the opposite may occur: an intern, for example, may be very excited at the opportunity to cause his or her first very pneumothorax. In this scenario, the tension falls onto the patient.
