Begging

To ask for something as charity of a gift. There are several types of begging: (1) begging for food or money in the case of residents[1], (2) begging for spare surgeries in the case of the Da Vinci surgical robot[2], or (3) begging for Dilaudid in the case of drug seekers.[3]
