Metformin is in the biguanide class of oral hypoglycemics used to treat type 2 diabetes.

Recent Events

A recent review of several observational studies showed metformin was associated with lower all-cause mortality in patients with heart failure, renal failure, and liver failure, findings that can only be classified by the phrase "badass." Recent labeling changes by the FDA should help increase use and promote badassery.
