"Anything, ANYTHING but opioids" is the powerfully succinct but official recommendation from the American College of Physicians regarding the management of acute, subacute, and chronic back pain.[1][2] It coincides with new guidelines on the restricted use of opioids from both the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Three Wise Monkeys.[3][4]
