Placenta, also known as afterbirth, can be thrown great distances if handled like a discus. The placenta throw will be one of the new events at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.[1] In the event it is not used during an Olympic event, it makes quite a delicious treat, served raw or as a smoothie.[2][3][4]
