A patient named Debbie wearing a debbie

A debbie (debbies is plural) is an outdated term. Before the 21st century, hospital gowns that patients wore were divided into two categories: debbies for female patients and johnnies for male patients. For reasons unclear, the debbie fell out of favor. Even the term johnny isn't used much any more; most health care professionals just refer to them as hospital gowns. No matter what you call them, you can always see the patient's butt when he or she is walking.
