Swear Jar
A swear jar is a device used in medical facilities to deter people from swearing by forcing the offender to pay money into the swear jar each time a profanity is uttered. Though it has been used throughout the hospital setting, the American College of Surgeons (ACG) were astute as to the potential income generator the swear jar was in operating rooms. On November 18, 2016, the ACG announced that their innovative "Operating Room Swear Jar Initiate" is on pace to generate $19 trillion in revenue by 2018, enough to pay down the U.S. national debt or buy like a thousand Da Vinci Surgical Robots.[1]
