When someone is said to have nerves of steel, not only are they brave and unfazed they actually do have nerves made completely out an alloy of iron, carbon, and other elements. The neurons are made of steel. The endoneurium, perineurium, and epineurium are made of steel. The arteries and veins? Made of steel too. Researchers have not yet been able to find the genetic defect that leads to the formation of nerves of steel. Future research depends on whether the Man of Steel, Superman, will consent to LP and other neurologic testing.[1][2][3]
