Like Dilaudid and morphine, Iodine (I) is an essential element for life for two purposes: (1) iodine is required to make thyroid hormones (T4 and T3]), and (2) iodine is required to make angiograms and CT scans possible. Natural sources of iodine include seafood and pharmacy. Iodine has rightfully, through hard work, dedication, and persistence, earned itself the atomic number 53.
