Benadryl (Diphenhydramine)

Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is a first-generation antihistamine that should never be given PO and only be given IV in high doses and quickly, especially if a patient asks for it because life is making him or her itchy.[1] Even Nick Saban uses it to treat healthy scratches.[2]
