MICU PICU
From Gomerpedia
Located in the Cusco Region, Urubamba Province, Machupicchu district in Peru above the Sacred Valley, MICU PICU is a 15th-century Incan combined medical and pediatric intensive care unit located 7,970 feet above sea level. It was built by the Incan hospital administrator Pachacuti but it abandoned in 1450 when the Spanish Conquest caused the Incan ICU staff to leave against medical advice (AMA). American historian Hiram Bingham brought MICU PICU to the world's attention when he rediscovered it in 1911 while lost looking for the nurses station. MICU PICU is breathtaking and not just because of the oxygen deprivation.
